Wild Bean Cafe was first established in 2000 along with BP Connect.
The two brands were created in 2000 after BP was acquiring various filling stations owned by independent companies and decided it was more profitable to add the store under a different brand name and a small café at each location instead of an unidentified shop and self-service coffee machines.
If a cafe was run by staff instead of self-service machines, BP could charge more for every item.
The trial proved to be successful with the result that Wild Bean Cafe can now be found in over 400 BP fueling stations in the UK.
in 2006 BP upgraded its offerings by testing franchising Just Food M&S stores on eleven of their locations and later expanding.
There are currently more than 250 M&S stores, along with Wild Bean Cafe units.
In both of the filling stations in the Rownhams in 2013, BP launched Wild Bean Cafe Express machines that were later replaced with regular Wild Bean Cafe units.
