Garrick Chili Dumplings 2022 In A medium-sized bowl, mix the minced pork, garlic chives sesame oil, soy sauce chili paste, ginger, chopped chili, and cornflour.
To make dumplings, place the wrapper in your hand, then brush the edges with a small amount of water.
Put a teaspoon of the pork mixture in the wrapper. Fold in half to cover the pork.

The top layer should be folded over the wrapper three times to the center along each edge. (Pleating just the upper layer will result in an oval shape).
Make sure sides are pressed tightly and then place them on a tray lined with. Repeat with other wrapped wrappers as well as the pork mix.
A non-stick frying pan is heated at medium temperature. Add oil and then place dumplings on the pan. Fry for about 1-2 minutes.
Pour the water in carefully and cover with a lid. Cook until 6-8 minutes. Take the lid off and cook until the water is gone.
To make dipping sauce mix the vinegar with the sliced chilies in the bowl.
Serve dumplings with sauce for dipping.

- 500 pork mince
- 1/2 Cup chopped garlic chives
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 1 Tbsp grated ginger
- 1 tbsp chili paste
- 2small red chilies with seeds removed, then finely chopped
- 1 Tbsp cornflour
- 2 packets of round dumpling wrappers
- 1 Tbsp oil
- 185 milliliters( 3 cups) water
- 60 ml( 1/4 cup) Chinese red vinegar
- 1 large red chili, cut finely
- Black sesame seeds used to serve
The pleating process of these dumplings is more complicated and if your guests are struggling to make half moons, they can prepare them without pleating.
Prepare the oil for chile up to five days in advance and keep it in the refrigerator and bring the temperature to room temperature before serving.

The oven’s temperature is for conventional ovens; however, if you are using fan-forced (convection) decrease the temperatures by 20 degrees Celsius.
We use Australian cups and tablespoons 1 teaspoon equals 5ml 1 tablespoon equals 20ml 1 cup equals 250ml. All herbs are fresh (unless otherwise specified) The cups and tablespoons are lightly packed.
All vegetables are medium-sized and peeled unless otherwise stated. Eggs are all 55-60 grams unless stated otherwise.
